In today’s post, I’m finally sharing my SoundWaves at Gaylord Opryland travel review. SoundWaves is the perfect destination for a couples’ weekend getaway. Take a peek into our room, the resort, and the indoor water experience below.
Thank you SoundWaves & Gaylord Opryland Resort for hosting us. Our stay and admission to SoundWaves was complimentary, however all opinions are 100% my own.
OUR ROOM
We loved that our room had an atrium view from the balcony. If you’ve never stayed at Gaylord Opryland (this was our first time), I highly recommend a room with an atrium view to get the full experience!
AMENITIES
As first time guests at Gaylord Opryland Resort, we didn’t really know what to expect from the resort. We were blown away! The resort is absolutely gorgeous! There are plenty of restaurants and shops, ensuring that you do not have to leave the property during your stay.
SOUNDWAVES
SoundWaves was AWESOME! The indoor/outdoor water experience is connected to the resort, so again, you never have to leave the property. Since we stayed during the Winter months, the outdoor pools and water slides were not open, but the indoor area was so much fun!
What we loved about SoundWaves:
- SoundWaves is reserved exclusively for guests who book the SoundWaves Water Experience overnight package. This ensures that it is never too crowded. We loved that we did not have to wait long for the different slides/activities.
- There is an adults only infinity pool with a bar & lounge area. You have to climb a set of stairs to get to the adult area, and then the pool overlooks the fun activities below. I loved that the adult area was completely separate. Not only is this a great family destination, but the adults only area also makes it great for couples too.
- Private cabanas are available for rental. This would be so fun for parties!
- The year-round indoor activities made SoundWaves a great activity for the Winter months. It is 84 degrees indoors, so it felt like we were somewhere warm and balmy, even though it was rainy and cold outside.
- Towels were provided and a human dryer is also available. This was great because, with your Water Experience overnight package, you have access to SoundWaves on the day of your arrival. So, you can get there early, store your luggage, and spend the day at SoundWaves. Then, when it’s time you check in, you can quickly dry off, collect your luggage, and head to your room. No need to bring a ton of towels, clothes, etc.
- You can eat at deciBels, the restaurant inside of SoundWaves, or bring in any food from inside the Opryland Resort. We loved the convenience of deciBels for lunch, and I also really enjoyed being able to bring my morning Starbucks inside when we arrived. 🙂
We went with another couple for a couples’ weekend trip and really enjoyed getting to be kids again at SoundWaves. The slides, adult pool area, and lazy river were our favorites! We also enjoyed eating at the restaurants inside of Gaylord Opryland Resort and the lush, tropical atmosphere. You have to keep reminding yourself that you’re indoors!
We are looking forward to hopefully traveling back in May when the outdoor SoundWaves activities open. You can read more about SoundWaves and start planning your trip here.
