RECENT READS (IN NO PARTICULAR ORDER)

1 – The Couple Next Door – I liked this book pretty good. It was a quick read (I finished it in a day). I felt like the reader finds out some information kind of early on, but then there were a lot of twists and turns that I wasn’t expecting.

2 – The Kind Worth Killing – This is one of my favorites. It was different from anything I’ve read recently, and I finished it quickly because I had to know what was going to happen.

3 – Dark Places – Aptly named, this one is definitely dark, and not for the faint of heart. It is very graphic, so if that’s not your thing, skip this one. However, I was once again racing to finish this one because I was desperate to know what happened.

4 – Sharp Objects – I loved this one. It’s dark too, but nothing like Dark Places. It’s also been turned into a mini-series on HBO right now starring Amy Adams.

5 – The Favorite Sister – I was SO excited to read this one because it’s Jessica Knoll’s 2nd book (author of The Luckiest Girl Alive). But for me, it wasn’t as good as The Luckiest Girl Alive. I expected more of the same, and this one fell a little flat. It was still good, and had some twists I wasn’t expecting but overall I enjoyed Knoll’s 1st book so much more.

6 – Behind Closed Doors – Talk about a psychological thriller! This one will have you cringing. I loved it!

7 – The Husband’s Secret – This one feels very Similar to Big Little Lies. If you liked it, you’ll enjoy this one as well.

WHAT I’M READING NEXT

1 – The Perfect Stranger – I’m excited about this one because I really liked this book by the same author. A review on Amazon also said think “Gone Girl, Girl on the Train, & The Luckiest Girl Alive,” so I have high expectations. The Luckiest Girl Alive is one of top favs from the Summer.

2 – Baby Doll – I saw some people on Insta recommend this one. First time reading this author.

3 – The Last Mrs. Parrish – I’ve never read anything by this author either, but I’ve seen a lot of people recommend this book.

4 – Truly Madly Guilty – Another title by Liane Moriarty, whom I love!

I agree, Truly Madly Guilty has had a slow build, but I am dying to know what happened at that barbecue! I think Big Little Lies was definitely better, but I am enjoying this one too. It’s lighter than what I normally read, so the change of pace has been good. Thanks for reading the post 🙂
