I’m finally sharing my full travel review of Panama Jack Resorts in Cancun, Mexico. Adam and I recently traveled there to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary and the trip was nothing short of amazing!
Thank you to Panama Jack Resorts Cancun for hosting us. Part of our stay was complimentary in exchange for the social media and blog coverage I provided for the resort. However, all opinions are 100% my own.
PANAMA JACK RESORT CANCUN
So I’m sure you’re wondering how we decided on Cancun for our big anniversary trip. I traveled to Cancun, Mexico for my high school senior trip (just a few short years ago ;)) and have always wanted to go back with Adam. As most of you already know, Adam and I had a destination wedding in Montego Bay, Jamaica, so we knew we wanted to go on another trip to somewhere tropical for our 5th anniversary. Since I somewhat knew the area from my previous trip, we both felt comfortable traveling to Panama Jack Resort Cancun.
The resort was only about a 40 minute drive from the airport and we had pre-arranged a shuttle to pick us up and take us to the resort. If you’re in the area, I highly recommend using BestDay Travel to schedule your shuttle to/from the airport.
OUR ROOM
We loved our room at Panama Jack Resort Cancun! It was the perfect size for us and we really liked that it had a couple of steps that separated the bed from a lower level sitting/dining area. All of the rooms at Panama Jack Cancun boast an ocean view, and the view from our balcony… just beautiful!
PRIVATE BEACHFRONT DINNER
Our beachfront dinner at Panama Jack Cancun might have been my favorite part of the trip. I shared videos and photos of the dinner on my Instagram Stories and I had a friend message me to say that she was just waiting for Chris Harrison to pop out! haha It was that legit.
It’s hard to tell what we had from some of the photos, but the steak and shrimp was delicious. We both said it was our favorite meal that week.
I couldn’t believe it was all for us. The set up was so pretty. There were lights under the tent, music playing, and our own waiter who took the best care of us. It was such a sweet, romantic dinner where we were just able to relax, enjoy the gorgeous view, and enjoy each other. It’s a moment I will never forget.
THE RESORT
We actually never left the resort during the week we were in Cancun. We found that Panama Jack Cancun had everything we needed, so we never wanted to leave. Our days consisted of laying by the pool or beach all day, then going up to our room to shower/get ready, and heading back down for dinner.
But, if you would like to explore the area while you are there, the resort can help you book different travel excursions and adventures. Or, if you’re a more laid back traveler like Adam and I, you can just enjoy the many different daily activities at the resort. There is water aerobics, foam parties, cooking classes, margarita making classes, beach volleyball, beachfront Zumba, yoga, spa services, and more!
If you’re traveling with kids, there are two areas just for them. Camp Jack is for children up to 12 years old. There is a private splash area, water slides, a mini-golf course, and more. For teens, there is #Hashtag, a clubhouse area with games, TVs, and more entertainment geared for ages 13-17.
We loved the design of the resort. The architecture sometimes made me feel like we were in Greece! We also loved relaxing in the open lobby area in the evenings and stopping by the Panama Jack Coffee Co Bar each morning.
DINING
Panama Jack Cancun is an all-inclusive resort. With 5 restaurants, multiple bars, food carts, snack bars, and a coffee bar, you will never go hungry there! We also enjoyed having access to the VIP lounge where you can hang out, watch TV, play pool, order a drink, or grab a snack.
The private beachfront dinner was our favorite meal, but I also really loved eating at Viaggio, the Italian restaurant on the resort. The Chicken Parmesan was delicious! We actually ate there twice because we enjoyed it so much. Each restaurant has a different decor/themed menu so you constantly feel like you are somewhere new, even while staying on the resort.
OVERALL EXPERIENCE
We had the best time at Panama Jack Cancun! It was such a great anniversary trip, but it would also be a fun trip for families. We cannot say enough good things about the staff. One thing that really stuck out to us was this gesture they would do where they would put their hands over their hearts and lean forward whenever you were finished talking. It was so endearing and made it seem that they were all so genuinely happy that we were there.
We would absolutely go back to Panama Jack Cancun, and maybe we will for our 10 year anniversary! 😉
Have you ever stayed at a Panama Jack Resort? Or traveled to Cancun? I would love to hear about your experience!
Thanks for this review. We are going there on a girls trip in two weeks for my moms bday. None of us have ever been to Cancun and when we booked we thought it was too good to be true. Really looking forward to it.

Hope you are still able to travel!! Have a safe trip!
Loved your review on the resort! My husband & I are going for our anniversary also! Did you happen to notice if there was a place to go parasailing near the resort? I can’t wait to go!!

Yay! Have so much fun!!! They have a ton of things you can plan/do on and near the resort. We didn’t do any, but I’m sure they have parasailing! 🙂
Hubs & I have stayed at Panama Jack several times (before it was rebranded it was Grand Caribe Real). Never had a problem there. But FYI, not all the rooms are ocean facing, they might have been in bldg you stayed in, main bldg, they’re not. When booking, if staying in main bldg, get ocean view or ocean front, the lagoon facing will get warm (very warm) in the late spring through late fall. Plus, it will be noisy if you sit on balcony at any time since it also faces main blvd through hotel zone.
