My Summer Skincare Routine with TULA

my-summer-skincare-routine2In today’s post, I’m doing something I’ve never done before… showing my bare face. (Insert shocked face emoji). I can’t believe it either. In past years, and let’s be honest, even past weeks, I would never ever ever do something like this. But, I recently updated my Summer skincare routine & I can’t stop myself from sharing it with all of you. This post is not sponsored by TULA. They did send me their products to try, however there were no posting requirements. I’m sharing these products because I truly love them. As always, all opinions are 100% my own.

So, if you have an Instagram account, you’ve probably seen TULA everywhere. I’ve seen so many bloggers sharing about TULA products over the years, but I never took the time to actually look into them. If I’m being really honest here, I’ve never been very serious about a skincare routine. In the past, I’d stick to a routine for awhile and then lose steam over time. But, as I’m getting older, skincare has become more important to me (and I’m totally kicking myself for not being more diligent with a routine over the years).

I’ve always struggled with acne prone/dry skin. Acne wise, I’ll go through phases where my skin looks great, and then out of nowhere I’ll have a breakout that lasts for 1-2 weeks. As far as dryness, it’s a daily struggle. I’ve always been leery of thick creams/moisturizers for fear that they would cause my skin to breakout. So it’s been a long, vicious cycle over the years. Skin is super dry and flaky – use a moisturizer that causes a breakout – use no moisturizer to improve breakout – skin is super dry and flaky again.

Breakouts or dryness, which is worse? (Did I really make myself choose?? Ugh.)

I don’t know about you, but Summer seems to be the absolute worst time for my skin. It must be because of being outside, swimming in the pool, sunscreen, etc. And, of course, it’s when my skin seems to need the most hydration. I knew that I needed a new Summer skincare routine, but wasn’t totally sure about which products I should be using.

After some research, I found that TULA uses probiotics as the foundation of all their products. This means that each product has the same healthy bacteria that is already naturally found in our bodies. Probiotics are proven to help keep your skin hydrated, clear, radiant, and firm (Less wrinkles? I’ll take two of everything! ha). You can read more about their products and the benefits of each ingredient here. It is so interesting!

When I first started using the products, I did have a few small breakouts. However, I think this was due to somewhat of a cleansing/adjustment phase. Since, my skin has been amazing. Smooth, no breakouts, and glowing! Y’all. My skin has never glowed. It’s never had enough moisture to have a healthy, hydrated glow… until now.

My favorite thing about the products I’ve been using is the hydration. My skin needed this sooo badly. The products are not oily or greasy, and they don’t leave a thick feeling on my skin. (No strong smells either). I’ve fully implemented these products into my Summer skincare routine and I could not be happier with the results!

MY SUMMER SKINCARE ROUTINE

I’ve been using this kit + the Hydrating Day and Night Cream.

1. After removing my makeup with a makeup wipe, I wash my face with the Purifying Face Cleanser. (You can use the Purifying Face Cleanser to remove makeup, but I still use a makeup wipe).

2. I use a cotton ball to apply the Pro-Glycolic Resurfacing Gel.

3. Once the gel has dried, I apply a dime-sized amount of the Aqua Infusion Oil-Free Gel Cream.

4. I finish by applying the Hydrating Day and Night Cream. This does not come in the Clear Complexion Kit, but it is made to be used after the Aqua Infusion Oil-Free Gel Cream, if you skin needs the extra hydration. Plus it helps reduce the appearance of fine lines.

5. The Exfoliating Treatment Mask also comes in the kit and I use it 2x a week.

6. I also love the Glow & Get It Cooling & Brightening Eye Balm to help with my tired under eyes – I use before bed & throughout the day for a little under eye pick me up.
