I recently teamed up with Old Time Pottery to give our laundry room a much needed makeover. In today’s post I’ll be sharing before & after photos (I can’t believe I am showing you guys the before photos!!) and tips for organization in a small space. I’m also sharing details for a $100 gift card to Old Time Pottery at the bottom of this post.

THE BEFORE & AFTER
Wow. Again, I can’t believe I’m posting the laundry room makeover before pictures. Adam even said, “You’re really posting that?” LOL Yep, because that’s our real life. And #realtalk…we let that space get out of hand. I feel like the laundry room is so easy to overlook. When you move into your home, the laundry room is usually not the priority. You throw it together, make it functional, and move on to the other areas that people will actually see. Ha!
We let it go for far too long. It became one of those rooms where you just shut the door and don’t look. So when Old Time Pottery reached out to me about a laundry room makeover I jumped at the chance! If you’ve never been to Old Time Pottery, I highly suggest you find the nearest one & go check it out. Old Time Pottery has numerous decorative storage baskets, crates, hangers, shelving, etc. They have everything you’ll need to get organized this Spring! (They have a ton of seasonal items, furniture, and home decor items as well. I worked with them on this Fall porch makeover post & this Christmas tree decorating post).
Small spaces clutter quickly! So, I’ve put together a few quick tips for organizing your small space.
TIPS FOR ORGANIZING YOUR SMALL SPACE
- THROW AWAY/DONATE ITEMS YOU DON’T NEED – Y’all, there were so many items in the cabinets that we never knew we had. How does stuff accumulate so quickly?! A lot of the items in our cabinets were thrown out & we donated some items of clothing that had been hanging on the rack for months. A good rule of thumb, if you haven’t used/worn something in the last year – get rid of it! There’s no need to keep clothes you don’t wear, and there’s no need to keep random bottles of products that you never use.
- CRATES & BASKETS ARE YOUR NEW BEST FRIENDS – All those games that you saw on our top shelf? They’re still there. But they’re organized & hidden in a gorgeous basket. The products that were thrown haphazardly in the cabinets? They’re in crates that are categorized as laundry products or home/car products. Old Time Pottery even has crates and baskets that you can write on, so type A personalities, you can label to your heart’s content.
- ADD A FEW DECORATIVE/FUNCTIONAL PIECES – Old Time Pottery has a huge section of gorgeous wall decor, but I decided to go with something functional. The wire hanger with 3 baskets not only looks nice, but also provides extra storage if we need it. (The home sweet home sign was purely decorative, 😉 but how cute is it?) The laundry baskets also look super nice, but again, serve a purpose. Last, we needed a rug for that area when you walk in the back door. I chose a gorgeous, but sturdy, rug for the space because I knew it would be in a high traffic area.
