Hi babes! Today I’m teaming up with Gray Monroe, who sent me this romper, to help you find your new favorite romper for Summer! Rompers can sometimes be difficult to wear if you don’t know the style that works best for your body type. However, I’m sharing all the tricks for finding the perfect romper for you!

Let me start by saying, I love everything about this romper except for the fact that I wish I would have sized down. If you’re ordering, size down!! If your body type is like mine (small waist, but larger hips) a romper is not always the most flattering. However, this romper was perfect because of the flowy fabric and elastic waistband. The waistband allowed for the smallest part of my waist to be accentuated and then the rest of the fabric to fold over and disguise my wider hips. This size was a little big on me, so I’m going to have some alterations done, but the cut was still perfect for my body type. I also really liked the off the shoulder neckline because it brought attention to my shoulders which I love for many reasons. (Read all the reasons why I plan to wear off the shoulder everything here.)

If you have more of a straight frame,  then you don’t really need the extra flowy fabric. Less fabric and a more fitted romper tends to actually give the illusion of an hourglass frame. Here’s a few options for you: Option 1, Option 2, Option 3.

One important thing to consider when selecting a romper to wear during the Summer months is the fabric! You’re definitely going to want something that is lightweight and breathable (another reason I love this one so much). I would try to stay away from ones that are lined, unless the lining is absolutely necessary. I would also consider going with an off the shoulder neckline because, especially if you’re going to be outdoors, other necklines can sometimes be bothersome in the heat.

Now that I’ve found a fit that works for my body, I’m super excited to add more rompers to my wardrobe. Where are some of your favorite places to shop for rompers?

I really like that you talk about the importance of the fabric when choosing a romper. It makes sense that this is one of the most essential parts to ensure it’s breathable and isn’t uncomfortable in the sun. This could be helpful to remember when looking to buy my wife one as a gift because while we don’t necessarily need the highest quality fabric, it’d be good to know what some of the attributes are so I know whether it’d be better for a summer day or night.
