I’m teaming up with Old Time Pottery again, and this time it’s for an easy Spring porch refresh. Today’s post is how to decorate your porch for Spring, plus I’m sharing 3 items you can purchase that make a big impact.
I have been compensated by Old Time Pottery for this post, however all opinions are 100% my own.
There’s nothing I love more than sprucing up our home for a new season. So of course, I had to take the sprucing outdoors and update our porch as well. Good news: it only takes a few items to completely transform a porch!
3 ITEMS THAT CAN MAKE A BIG IMPACT
When you decorate your front porch, there are 3 main items you need. Planters, an accent layer under your doormat, and a wreath. These 3 items will help fill the space, elevate your style, and instantly make your entrance more welcoming. We only purchased two planters, a wreath, a door mat + accent layer, and just look at our before and after pictures!
HOW TO DECORATE YOUR PORCH FOR SPRING
Head to Old Time Pottery – When it’s time for a home update, whether it be indoors or out, we always like to see what Old Time Pottery has in-store.
Choose Planters – Originally, we were on the hunt for empty planters that we could fill with artificial plants. But, at the time of our visit, our local Old Time Pottery did not have a huge selection of un-potted plants. On the other hand, they did have a very large assortment of plants already in planters that we loved. This is why it’s important to stop by Old Time Pottery regularly because they are constantly getting new inventory. 🙂 I selected two matching planters for each side of the door. Greenery instantly makes everything more welcoming & having the same planter on each side of the door gives a balanced feel. I also like to choose taller planters/plants to frame the door because they make a bigger impact.
For this particular project I wanted artificial plants in the planters to keep things low maintenance. But, in the Summer months, we always plant real flowers in planters and have them sitting around our backyard pool. So, we will definitely be heading back to Old Time Pottery to grab some empty planters for around our pool area. They had SO many planters in all shapes, colors, and sizes! Check them out in the video below.
Pick out a Doormat + Accent Layer – Adding an accent layer underneath elevates the look of a regular doormat. I paired the polka dots with plaid to make it a little more eye-catching.
Add a wreath – The wreath was actually the last thing we chose because we really wanted the gorgeous planters to be the focal pieces of the space. But I always like to add a new wreath for each new season.
Thanks for reading friends! I can’t wait to share our next home project!
