Over the weekend, I experienced my first staycation at the Grand Bohemian Hotel Mountain Brook. It was so much fun to “get away” with two of my blogger friends for a much needed girls’ weekend. In today’s post, I’m sharing all about our recent stay.

Grand Bohemian Hotel Mountain Brook
This boutique hotel is so unique. Everything about the architecture, decor, and overall ambiance make you feel like you have been whisked away to somewhere outside of Mountain Brook. The attention to detail is obvious around every corner. We loved all the colors & textures at Grand Bohemian Hotel Mountain Brook. We all said that it made us think of Alice in Wonderland – so fun!
Our Room
Grand Bohemian Hotel Mountain Brook gave us a first class experience from the moment we arrived until our reluctant departure on Sunday. We stayed in a standard two queen guest room, and had plenty of space (even for 3 bloggers who travel with a luggage load equivalent to 6 people – ha ha). The bathroom was large enough for all of us to comfortably get ready, and our beds were sooo soft!
Wine Blending Class
The wine blending class was by far one of the coolest experiences I have ever had. Did you know that the Grand Bohemian Hotel Mountain Brook is only the second stand-alone hotel in the U.S. to offer educational wine blending classes? I had no idea!
Our instructor was very knowledgeable and fun as he guided us through the process of tasting different wine varietals. We were given champagne (for palette cleansing, of course ;)) and a charcuterie board to munch on between sips. After each tasting, we made notes and discussed what we smelled, tasted, liked, disliked, etc. At the end of the class, we used a beaker to measure different amounts of each varietal to create our own custom blend.
Before our arrival, we chose photos & names for our wine. Then, after our final choice was blended before our eyes, our personalized label was added. Oh, I almost forgot to mention that we even got to cork our own bottles! (This was actually quite funny, as it’s a little more difficult than you would think. If wine blending is not your thing, Grand Bohemian Hotel Mountain Brook also offers cooking classes, champagne tasting, and more. You can view all of the available classes here. However, if the wine blending class piques your interest, I highly recommend it.
Habitat Feed & Social
Before checking out on Sunday, we had brunch at Habitat Feed & Social, located on the 3rd floor of the hotel. They service breakfast, lunch, dinner, and Sunday brunch. There is even a bar area with live music in the evenings. You can sit indoors or outdoors on the expansive roof top. We experienced their Sunday brunch buffet and it was delicious! There were waffles, omelets, fresh fruit, pastries, and more!
Overall Experience
“Wow” is all I can say about the Grand Bohemian Hotel Mountain Brook. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous, the staff is friendly and accommodating, the food is amazing, and the wine blending class is so unique and fun! Grand Bohemian Hotel Mountain Brook is the perfect hotel to schedule your next staycation, romantic getaway, or girls’ weekend.
