Before jumping into the dress, I’m going to link my favorite monogram necklace that I’m wearing in these photos, as well as the eyeshadow palette, lipstick, and curling wand I used.
The sleeveless version of this dress (also linked, and would be great under a jacket or sweater if you don’t like sleeves) was a huge hit over the Summer. After eyeing it for awhile, I finally decided to try the long sleeve style for the colder months ahead. I was a little worried that I wouldn’t like the way this dress fit me, but I couldn’t have been more wrong! Pair this with a quilted vest, waterfall cardigan, or scarf; then, add your favorite OTK boots for a polished, yet casual look. For a dressier occasion, ditch the extra layers and stick with just the dress and your OTKs, strappy heels, or pumps.
Now, for the fit. I will say that this dress runs a little small. I chose my normal “small” and the fit was very bodycon-ish. Which, for me, was perfect for layering. However, if you want a little bit of a looser fit, I would go up a size. If I was going to wear this dress without something over it, I would need the medium. However, I really like it for wearing under cardigans and vests, so I’m sticking with the small as to not add any extra bulk.
Also, it must be said that the ruching is magic. If you didn’t already know, ruching is the secret to making any dress look extra flattering. If you have wider hips or a poochy stomach, ruching is the way to go! If pulls everything in and has such a slimming effect. I always love everything from Leith, and this dress was no exception. Try the magical ruched dress. You won’t be disappointed. 😉
