Remember when skorts were SO popular back in the ’90s? Well I’m bringing them back! And, in my opinion, this $17 ruffle skort is a great place to start!

WHY I LOVE SKORTS
Okay so from growing up in the ’90s, I feel like it’s a given that I’m going to be rockin’ a skort. But, if you haven’t given skorts a chance, let me tell you why you’re going to l-o-v-e these tricksy little skirts in disguise.
I love wearing skirts, but let’s be honest, they’re not always the most practical clothing option. I wear a lot of dresses because I like to feel girly, and they usually provide more coverage than skirts. (I don’t usually wear skirts that are down to my knees, so any activity in a skirt can be precarious). With a skort, you have much more piece of mind & better coverage! I mean, you’re basically wearing shorts, but a skort looks so much more feminine!
Now, if I hadn’t told you I was wearing a skort, would you have known? I love that this one in particular looks like a wrap skirt. Basically, you get the best of both worlds: the look of a feminine skirt & the practicality of shorts. Win-win.
BTW, I paired this $8 bodysuit with the ruffle skort and it was perfect. Since the skort had the ruffles and tie detail, I wanted to keep my top simple. And, I’ve totally been on the bodysuit train recently. Who knew they were so flattering? BRB while I go buy this one in all colors.
RUFFLE SKORT SIZING
For the ruffle skort, I ordered a medium. I have a small waist and wider hips so, because of this, the medium sat on my waist and made the skort a little shorter. If I had been worried about the length, I probably would have sized up. If you want to make sure it sits on your hips for more length, double check the size chart.
For the bodysuit, I ordered a medium. It fit a little snug, but that’s exactly what I wanted. When it’s a little snug, it has more of a smoothing/slimming effect.
What’s your opinion on skorts? Have you tried them recently? I’d love to hear in the comments!
