9 Thrillers to Read in March 2021

must-read-thrillers-2021

In today’s post I’m sharing a big roundup of thriller books I have recently read and loved, and also some that didn’t hit the mark for me.

9 Thrillers To Read in March 2021

The Perfect Marriage – Sarah is a successful defense attorney and her husband, Adam is a struggling writer. When Adam’s mistress is found murdered, Sarah must defend her husband. Good ending!

Goodnight Beautiful– Newlyweds Sam (a psychotherapist) and Annie return to Sam’s hometown to start their life together. Lonely at home, Annie begins to listen through a vent to Sam’s sessions with patients, and finds out so many juicy secrets! Then one night, Sam goes missing.. but nothing is what you think, and there are some good twists!

Jar of Hearts– Three friends spend a drunken evening together. One is murdered, one goes missing, and one spends years searching for the truth. Be warned that this book is VERY graphic, but so good!

The Wife Upstairs – Jane is a broke dog-walker with a past. But her life instantly changes when she meets Eddie, a rich widower who’s wife was the center of their social circle and a savvy businesswoman. But some things about Eddie aren’t adding up, and Jane becomes obsessed with learning more about his previous wife, Bea. What really happened? Is Jane in danger? This one was set in Birmingham, Alabama which I loved. It was also unlike a lot of other domestic thrillers I’ve read, so I was sucked in right away. There are some good twists too!

Little Secrets – Marin and Derek had the perfect life.. but all that changed when their son Sebastian was kidnapped. It’s been a year and Marin is still searching for answers. In the midst of searching for her son, she finds out a lot more information than she bargained for. Marin is pushed to the brink with choices she has to make, and learns just how far she’ll go to find the truth. I really enjoyed this one, and it had a great ending!

The One Before – Madison and her fiancé Cooper move back to Cooper’s hometown to settle down and plan their wedding. But years ago, Cooper’s girlfriend Celia went missing in the same town and was later found in a lake. The town still whispers about what happened, Celia’s mother still believes Cooper did it, and Madison is determined to learn the truth. This one had me suspecting everyone! I loved it.

What I Know – Della had a difficult childhood with her brother, and she has never forgiven herself for not speaking up about him sooner. So now, as a teacher, when she finds out that a student has been attacked, her hackles immediately rise. She knows that monsters hide in plain sight, and she sees right through the new student Zoey that everyone loves. Can she convince everyone about Zoey before it’s too late? This book was different from others I’ve read, so it hooked me immediately. It also had an ending that I did not see coming! Loved!

The Best of Friends – Three best friends have three sons that are also best friends. But one night things go terribly wrong. One son is dead, one is in a coma, and the third won’t speak about what happened. This book started with a bang and immediately hooked me. I had been in a reading rut for awhile, but this one snapped me out of it and I finished the book in 2 days.

The Night Swim – Rachel is a crime podcaster and for her new season, she decides to travel to a small beach town to cover a current rape trial. While in town, a fan contacts her about researching her sister’s death. It happened in the same town twenty-five years ago, and was ruled as a drowning. But Hannah knows there is more to her sister’s story. These two separate cases have similarities, and Rachel becomes engrossed in learning the truth about both. I had seen so many people posting about this book over the last few months, but I wasn’t sure if I would love it. I was wrong. This one was great!

BOOKS I DIDN’T LOVE

The Wrong Family – I loved The Wives by the same author, but this one just moved too slow for me, and I couldn’t get into it. I stopped before finishing.

Before She Knew Him – I usually like Peter Swanson, but again this one moved a little slow and I had no motivation to finish the book.

This Time Next Year – A cute concept, and I wanted to love this one, but it mostly just dragged for me. Not a favorite.

Heart Bones – Colleen Hoover is one of my favorite authors, but I didn’t love this one. I wanted more of the characters’ present life as adults, but almost the entire book was set when they were teenagers.
