2022 Fall Porch + How To Repurpose Your Fall Decor

Today I’m teaming up with Old Time Pottery to share my 2022 Fall porch, plus how to get the most use out of your Fall decor. Keep reading for my best tips to repurpose your Fall decor + how to protect it.

I have been compensated by Old Time Pottery for this post, however all opinions are 100% my own.

MY 2022 FALL PORCH

I cannot believe that Summer is winding down. Fall will be here before we know it, so I broke out the Fall decor a little early to share some Fall porch inspo with you.

HOW TO REPURPOSE YOUR FALL DECOR

It’s no surprise that I like to decorate for every season and holiday. What I I don’t like is spending a fortune on new decor each time I want to re-decorate. Over the years, I’ve gotten really good at choosing decor items that I can later repurpose around my home.

Step 1: If you’re looking for some new items to spruce up your Fall porch, you should head to your local Old Time Pottery. Old Time Pottery is getting new Fall inventory daily and it’s both cute and well priced. I love that they have a great mixture of both seasonal and non-seasonal home decor. For example, these lanterns were not part of their Fall inventory but they’re the perfect addition to my 2022 Fall porch. Because they’re neutral, I can use them year-round. Which brings me to Step 2…

Step 2: Choose decor pieces that you can reuse/repurpose. Ask yourself: “How can I reuse this later?” For example, I chose a pumpkin doormat instead of a Halloween one, and a neutral layering rug. The pumpkin mat can be used through November, and the neutral layering rug can be used year-round. Same with the lanterns. I like choosing neutral pieces for that very reason.

Step 3: Pick accent pieces that you can use on your Thanksgiving tablescape or inside your home. The fabric pumpkins are perfect in the place of real pumpkins. Later I might add real pumpkins, and if I do, I’ll bring the fabric pumpkins inside to decorate my table or mantel.

Step 4: Select a wreath that you can repurpose as a centerpiece. This wreath matches my indoor Fall color palette. Since it matches, I can use the wreath as a centerpiece on my Thanksgiving tablescape. Or, I can leave it up for the full Fall season this year and use it as a centerpiece in future years.

HOW TO PROTECT YOUR DECOR

Rugs and wreaths are the worst to fade! To protect my rugs, I always treat them with a fabric protection spray. Make sure you select one that will protect your rugs from both UV rays and water. For your wreaths, you’ll want to use a floral protectant spray.

Next month, I’m partnering with Old Time Pottery to share a super cute Fall party idea. Be sure to come back for all the Fall party fun!
